The CE marking is mandatory for many products. It is an indication that the product has been tested and the statutory requirements of the EU to ensure health, safety and environmental protection requirement before it was marketed. The CE mark certification experts of CE Solutions evaluate product documentation and carry out all procedures required so that the CE mark or CE marking results in the required CE approval. Once all the procedures have been correctly implemented by our experts regarding the CE certification the CE mark can be legally brought onto the product.
Obtaining the CE Mark
Before the CE Mark may be affixed to a product and legally sold within the European Union, the manufacturer or exporter must complete the following: Prepare Technical Documentation (Technical File) to show the product’s compliance with applicable essential requirements and conformity assessment procedures of the applicable device directive. Prepare a "declaration of conformity" which means that you, as a manufacturer, declare that your product fulfills the requirements of the applicable directive. According to some directives you must also receive a product-specific CE marking certificate from a Notified Body. Unfortunately, there is no comprehensive list of the products that require a CE marking. Therefore, it is the manufacturer's responsibility to determine if a product requires a CE marking.
